Simulator Design: PC hardware

The basic PC and hardware configuration (see chart) is:

FS01 - flight simulator software and visuals.
FS02 - Captain side displays and logics, plus upper EICAS display.
FS03 - First-officer side displays and logics.
FS04 - Instructor station, main I/O systems & logics (and remote control oother PCs)
FS05 - Lower EICAS, multifunction display, online utilities, Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).

All PCs are Windows XP-pro. Networking via CAT5 cable to 100-speed switching hub. Network connectivity for the sim is via WideServer and WideClient software using FSUIPC data (from Peter Dowson).

FS04 provides remote control of 3 of the other PCs. This is achieved via monitor switching (4 way hub), and the mouse/keyboard on FS04 can seemlessly travel to the other PCs via Synergy software.
